Two Arrests in the Aftermath of Heathrow Irritant Spray Attack

Placeholder Heathrow Airport scene
The assault caused the temporary closure of the CTA tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by a substance believed to be pepper spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

The arrests come after a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, two women were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was one of the injured during the incident. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He was subsequently released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were called at approximately 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of individuals injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.

The assault - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
